Totti Karpela

Totti Karpela is a seasoned security professional with a distinguished 20-year career in Finland’s National Police, where he specialized in managing threats against law enforcement and judicial officials. He brings extensive expertise in the psychological assessment of high-risk offenders and has served as a unit supervisor and instructor at the National Police University, where he focused on managing aggressive behavior and conflict resolution.

Totti holds the prestigious CTM (Certified Threat Manager) accreditation for threat assessment and management, one of the few professionals outside the U.S. to achieve this recognition, and is also accredited in Europe. Prior to joining the police, he served in the Military Police and continues to hold the rank of Warrant Officer in the Finnish Army Reserve.

As a sought-after consultant, Totti has worked with organizations such as the European Council and the U.S. Defense Threat Reduction Agency. In 2024, he was named one of the Top 40 Global Thought Leaders in Security and Life Safety by the Life Safety Alliance. He is also an accomplished author, having published four books.
