Andrea Wechlin

Andrea Wechlin is the Director of the Justizvollzugsanstalt (JVA) Hindelbank, Switzerland’s largest correctional facility for women. A member of the AETAP Board since 2012, she served as the association’s President from 2018 to 2023. Andrea holds degrees in Social Work and has specialized in Nonprofit and Public Management, leadership, forensic science, and threat management.

Her career has included significant roles in violence prevention, including the development of a threat management system for the Canton of Lucerne, Switzerland, and co-directing a women’s shelter. She has extensive experience training professionals in domestic violence, stalking, and honor-based violence, and has been actively addressing radicalization within the prison system in recent years.
