Bram van der Meer

Bram Van der Meer is the current Vice-President of the European Association of Threat Assessment Professionals (AETAP), having been a member since its founding in 2006. He served as the association’s President from 2010 to 2013. As a clinical psychologist specializing in investigative psychology, Bram began his career in a forensic mental health institution, focusing on recidivism risk and clinical assessments of patients.

For the next 12 years, he worked as an investigative psychologist for the Netherlands National Police, specializing in offender profiling, interview techniques, and threat assessment. Since 2012, Bram has been a private practitioner, offering training, threat assessment, and risk management services to higher education institutions and the corporate sector.

Bram’s mission for AETAP is to further develop and enhance the association as an international platform where experts in threat assessment, researchers, and practitioners can connect, improve their skills and knowledge, and collaborate to enhance the quality of their work in protecting people and preventing violence.
