Resource Centre
The practice of threat assessment and management spans a wide range of topics and is constantly changing to reflect the dynamic nature of the threats we face and the nascent field within which we work. We have developed this Resource Centre to reflect the reality of this ever-changing environment.
The Resource Centre contains best practice, tools and guidelines, as well as core literature and recent research to help practitioners adhere to the practice guidelines whilst navigating their way through their work.
We have structured the hub with the following themes:
- Core Principles of Threat Assessment and Management
- Domestic Violence & Honour-based Violence
- Stalking & Harassment
- Threatening Communication
- Extremism / Terrorism
- Workplace Violence & Insider Threat
- Mass Homicide
- The Role of Mental Disorder
- New/Emerging Themes
It is fully acknowledged that the above categories are not mutually exclusive, but this is reflective of the practice of threat assessment and management; pigeonholing issues into one theme or area of concern is neither appropriate nor necessary. There will therefore be duplication of papers, tools, and/or training programs across the category pages.
We recognize our approach is not definitive; there is no standardized way of structuring topics within the field of threat assessment and management. The categories or themes therefore merely provide an initial signposting for where readers may wish to begin their search for useful and relevant information on any topic.
