Lieke Bootsma
Lieke Bootsma has been a board member of the European Association of Threat Assessment Professionals (AETAP) since 2012. She holds a Master’s degree in Psychology from Leiden University and has been with the Dutch police since 2000. Initially working as an operational crime analyst, she quickly transitioned to the role of investigative psychologist.
In her current role, Lieke is regularly consulted by investigators for interview strategies, behavioral investigative advice, and threat assessment, as well as the analysis of dubious allegations. Her expertise in threat assessment is extensive, having been consulted in over 200 cases, including those related to stalking, domestic violence, anonymous threats, and violent extremism.
Lieke has also made significant contributions to the field through her publications. She co-authored research on “disturbing communications and problematic approaches to the Dutch Royal Family” and contributed an operational chapter on risk assessment of extremists in the second edition of the International Handbook of Threat Assessment.
